Ans: People are considered as a resource because using their skill and knowledge they can create more resource and add to the growth and development of the economy. They are the most valuable resource for any country.

Q2: How is human resource different from other resources like land and physical capital?

Ans: Human resource is the most important resource of all. Human resources are different from other resources like land and physical capital because they give importance to anything that we considered as a resource. Also, they can use their knowledge and skill to create more resources and contributes in the growth and development in the economy.

Q3: What is the role of education in human capital formation?

Ans: Education plays very important role in human capital formation because an educated person can work efficiently and help in the growth and development of the economy.

Q4: What is the role of health in human capital formation?

Ans: Health is a very important factor for human capital formation because a healthy person can work productively and effectively that will earn profit for the organization and ultimately leads to the economic development of the country.

Q5: What part does health play in the individual's working life?

Ans: A healthy individual can work productively and effectively to earn a living for his family. Thus, it is very important for every individual to take care of their health, maintain proper hygiene and take proper nutrients so that they can stay safe from diseases.

Q6: What are the various activities undertaken in the primary Sector, Secondary sector, and territory sector?

Ans:

  1. Primary sector: agriculture, fishing, animal husbandry, mining
  2. Secondary sector: small scale manufacturing and large scale manufacturing
  3. Territory sector: Banking, Finance, transportation and insurance services

Q7: What is the difference between economic activities and non-economic activities?

Ans:

  1. The activities that are done for the exchange of money are called economic activities. For Example: Working for a firm and getting salary.
  2. The activities that involve no exchange of money are called non-economic activities. For example: A mother cooking for the family is a non-economic activity.

Q8: Why are women employed in low-paid work?

Ans: A large number of women are less educated than men. Therefore they are hired for unskilled work that is why they receive low wages.

Q9: How will you explain the term unemployment?

Ans: Unemployment is a situation where a person willing to work is unable to find a job anywhere in the country.

Q10: What is the difference between disguised unemployment and seasonal unemployment?

Ans:

Seasonal unemployment

This is a common type of unemployment that is found in rural areas. When people have no work to do in off harvesting seasons, this situation is called seasonal unemployment.

Disguised unemployment

It is another type of unemployment that is also found in rural areas. When more than required people work on a farm, it is called disguised unemployment. If the extra people are removed from the farm, the productivity of remaining people will not be affected.

Q11: Why is educated unemployed a Peculiar problem of India in?

Ans: When educated people do not find any job in the country, they become burden on other people. Also, it is a wastage of Manpower which could be utilized in creating better and strong economy. For countries like India, educated unemployment is a very serious problem that must be addressed as soon as possible so that the burden could be reduced and it will give a boost to the economy.
