(f) Why are the river plains thickly populated?
Ans: The river plains are thickly populated because it is suitable for construction activities, fertile soil is available for large-scale farming, water is available for irrigation, and it provides better connectivity of roadways and railways.
(g) Why are mountains thinly populated?
Ans: In mountain regions, only a few areas is suitable for construction activities, slopes make it difficult for farming, it’s very tough to construct roads and railroad. These are the few reasons for less population in mountains.
